Yes we are and we all miss Penang very much. While my hubs and I miss the fantastic Penang food, the girls miss the hotels and the fun. Since 2009, we had made countless numbers of trips to Penang. Our next trip to Penang will be during the long school holidays in December. We will have to make a trip to Penang for the next 9 years until Cassandra is 12 years old. Penang is a place that brings me a lot of bitter and sweet memories. Each time we reach the Penang Bridge, all the memories of May 2009 will flood my mind. From the Penang Bridge right up to GMC, I would be chokeful of emotions. Flash back of my frail Baby lying listlessly on my lap in the car, with me praying that she would make it to the hospital in one piece would always attack my mind the moment we reach Penang from Ipoh. I once told my hubs that I would not mind living in Penang. I love the beach and the food. The Penang people are friendly too, albeit I have to learn to speak a word or two of Hokkien in order to communicate with the locals. Given a choice, I would love to own a condo at Gurney Drive, facing the sea. I can walk to the Gurney Drive hawkers’ center for great Penang hawkers’ food anytime I desire and can also walk to the nearby shopping malls to do some retail therapy. But a property in Gurney Drive would be very expensive and the price is way beyond our budget at the moment. If we ever move to Penang, we would need a good Penang map to hunt for a good property at a location that we like. Hmmm, I wouldn’t mind Tanjung Bungah too but then again, I think we can forget about this tourist hot spot for the time being. In the meantime, I will be counting down our days when we next go to Penang. The first thing that I will attack will be Ah Guan Apom along Jalan Burmah. I know my foodie hubs will bring us to Tg Tokong again for the yummilicous baked crabs. Oooh, can’t wait for all these. And I pray that Baby’s scan will be good again.
