Cheapskate Advertiser

Early this morning, I managed to grab an offer from this advertising network.  The payout is slightly higher than the norm.  I should have immediately completed this assignment and submitted it to the advertiser coz I have just received an email from the cheapskate advertiser informing me that the campaign is cancelled.  Bummer!  And this is not the first time advertisers from this network cancel campaigns.  Many bloggers have ‘kena’ before…..all the time.  I was about to start writing the ad when I saw the email.  What the fun, luckily I have not wasted my precious time cracking my head for ideas to write the ad yet.  That is just so unprofessional of the advertiser to do that.  If they don’t want the ad to appear in my blog, why give the task to me in the first place?

Just What Do You Think She’s Doing?

Sherilyn my little rascal is always fully of mischievous ideas and always has a trick or two up her sleeves.  Several weeks ago, I gave her a banana to eat for breakfast.  Sherilyn who can never sit still, was hopping about with the banana, singing away.  She then saw the laundry basket on the floor and climbed inside.   Once inside the basket, she pretended that she was inside a car and daddy was driving the car.  She said “daddy, drive me to Hong Kong to see koo mah”.  And as she sat inside the basket, she pretended she was having a conversation with daddy and was singing away and munching her banana away… happily.   That’s her way of self-entertainment.  I wonder if she could still remember her trip to Hong Kong when she was 8 months old.  We had taken some video shots of the HK trip and if she watches them again now, I wonder if she would have some slight recollection of the trip.

Vomiting Again

Though Alycia seems to have recovered from her recent bout of illness, she still puked once yesterday and once today.   Yesterday, she kept telling me that she’s hungry.  About half an hour before dinner time, I gave her a banana.   Just before dinner, she told me that she had tummy ache and puked.  I thought it was caused by the banana.  This morning, just before breakfast, she also puked, but mostly phlegm.  She still has quite a bit of phlegm in her throat and I guess the vomiting must be her body’s natural way of expelling the phlegm.  Other than the vomiting, she is otherwise very active and has good appetite.

Car Maintenance

Everyone knows how expensive it is to own and maintain a car. I used to spend between RM700 – RM900 per month on car maintenance when I was still working. Now, I don’t work and I don’t really need a car, thus I have no more woes on maintaining a car. I remember a couple of years ago, I spent close to RM4,000 when the engine of my car malfunctioned. As I was entitled to a car allowance from the company I worked for, I replaced the engine with a brand new engine. If I get myself a car now, I will definitely be more penny-wise since I am no longer working. Should I need to change the car engine, I will get a used engine instead as I found out that I can buy affordable, clean, test-driven and inspected used engines that are under warranty from midwest auto recycling, the specialist in used car engine. I shall bookmark this website in my Favorites as I never know when I will need to get a cheap used car engine.

The Girls’ Appetite Is Back!

The girls have finally recovered from their illness, though not 100% as there is still phlegm in their throats.  Their appetite is finally making a come back.

For the past 2.5 days, Alycia has been talking non-stop about food…. telling me what she would like to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner…. non-stop.  Two nights ago,  she told me that she wanted to eat spaghetti and she kept pestering me to cook her spaghetti the following day and so I promised her that I will cook her spaghetti with minced pork meat and tomatoes for dinner today.

Sherilyn’s appetite has also come back.  She has started to open the fridge door by herself again – to bring out the fresh milk to drink and cheese to eat.  She drank quite a bit of fresh milk yesterday and today.  When she saw me eating corn flakes with fresh milk for lunch yesterday, she too requested to eat them, though she already had a big bowl of Udon with stir-fried fish paste that I had cooked for her. Last night I cooked them fried rice for dinner.  The gals ate so much to the extent that I had to stop them from eating for fear of them puking.  When I was busy and wasn’t looking, Sherilyn quietly climbed up the dining table and stole a few spoonfuls of fried rice to eat – thrice when I wasn’t looking!   I was really terrified that she would puke again at midnight from overeating, so I reduced her milk intake at night.

Well, I am really glad that my girls are feeling hungry and starting to demand for food to eat again.  I am praying that their immune system will be stronger and will not fall sick so easily.  It’s really physically stressful on me and financially strenuous on hubby each time they fall sick.

How Much Are You Willing To Spend On Your Hobby?

How much are you willing to spend on your hobby – be it buying some rare coins, some stamps, an art, a memorabilia or maybe an antique car? For most people, the most they are willing to part is a few thousand bucks or maybe tens of thousands of bucks for an antique car. But for a business executive in Orange County California who has been collecting rare coins since childhood, he spent $2.5 million on an 1861 Philadelphia Mint Paquet Reverse $20 gold coin sold by Monaco Rare Coins of Newport Beach, California. I was really bowled over when I read the article from zoomcoin.com.  Are you willing to spend this much on your hobby too?
