KidZania Kuala Lumpur is an interactive edutainment centre where children can experience the world of adults in a replica of a real city. There are various role-playing activities specifically designed to aid physical and intellectual growth. Kids have a choice of over 100 different professions in more than 60 different establishments. Be a surgeon, a fire fighter, a journalist, a pilot, a mechanic, a model, a doctor, a painter, a radio DJ and an actor, among others.
The first time that Cass went to KidZania was 1.5 years ago when she was invited by her classmate to her 9th birthday party. After spending half a day at KidZania and earning lots of kidZos, Cass fell in love with the place and was reluctant to go home. From time to time, Cass still pesters me to bring her to KidZania Damansara so that she could try her hands on other ‘jobs’ that she did not have the time to try the previous time and to utilize all her kidZos.
Tripcarte.Asia provides cheap Kidzania tickets and interesting Kidzania promotion to be enjoyed by all.
What I like about Tripcarte is that they have a FlexPlus ticket system where no reservation is required and you can go to your purchased destination at anytime (any day and any time of open hours) and don’t have to get tied down to rigid schedules. This system suits me perfectly well as my hubby is always tied down with work and can only confirm his availability at the eleventh hour. Because of this, it is always hard for us to buy tickets to visit places. With FlexPlus, I can purchase the tickets first and the tickets are valid for 6 months. If we decide to cancel our visit plan, we can get a guaranteed refund!
On the day of your visit at KidZania or to any destination, all you have to do is present a QR code (which you’ll get instantly via email after payment) at the online ticket counter and walk right in with no hassle of printing out the tickets.
Isn’t this ticketing system the best? It suits busy parents who cannot confirm on the date of their visit.
All parents are welcomed to experience the best of Tripcarte’s Kidzania Malaysia Promotions 2019 as this attraction is labelled as one of the best kids activities in KL.
Do share Tripcarte with your friends and family members. They will definitely love this hassle-free and worry-free ticketing system.

We will be making a road trip back to my hometown in Ipoh this weekend. This trip will be filled with celebrations from my niece’s birthday on 21st December to big brother Ray’s birthday and Winter Solstice on 22nd December to Christmas. The finale will be hubby’s birthday on 30th December and the New Year celebration back in KL. My parents will be joining us in KL for the two final celebrations.
We have not brought the kids to anywhere for a real holiday this school holiday as hubby has been stuffed to the gills with work and back-to-back catering functions. Since he’s able to take a few days off from work to accompany us back to Ipoh for all the celebrations, we might as well have a daycation at an interesting place in Ipoh just for the kids. What I have in mind is the Sunway Lost World of Tambun, a self-contained wonderland cocooned by lush tropical jungle, natural hot springs, breathtaking limestone features of 400 million years of age and seven amazing attraction parks making it the ultimate day and night destination for a unique eco-adventure excursion for visitors of all ages.
While browsing the internet for the cheapest tickets to the Lost World of Tambun, I stumbled upon Wonderfly. And I found really affordable entrance tickets to the theme park right at Wonderfly! The ticket prices are way cheaper than that listed at the Sunway Lost World Of Tambun website and other ticketing platforms.
If purchased from Wonderfly, we would have saved almost a hundred Ringgit on the tickets for 8 pax. And we get instant confirmation on the purchase!
Born and bred in Malaysia, Wonderfly is a trusted online ticketing platform for consumers across all ages, travel agents, and tour operators. Founded by two young entrepreneurs, Wonderfly aims to redefine the way people obtain their tickets whether for theme parks, events, festivals or concerts via digital means.
This platform allows domestic and international consumers to make a smooth and easy process in obtaining tickets at unbeatable prices under one roof, ultimately eliminating the hassle of browsing multiple pages for the best deal.

Caregivers play an important role in providing care for your sick, aged or disabled loved ones.
A family caregiver is a person who provides any type of physical and/or emotional care for an ill or disabled loved one at home. Loved ones in need of care are aged parents, those suffering from a physical or mental illness, disability, substance misuse or other condition. In most cases, the primary caregiver is a spouse, partner, parent or adult child. Caregivers often take on the responsibilities of the patient while still providing for themselves and other family members.
However there will be times when we are faced with circumstances rendering us unable to care for our aged parents or sick / disabled loved ones.
When I was 18 years old and in college, my much loved maternal granny had a stroke. Consequently, she lost her memory. Both my parents were still working at that time and mum had to make a tough decision to send granny to a nursing home. Granny hated staying at the nursing home and would try to run away from the home. It broke my heart into a million pieces each time we visited her at the nursing home. When it was time for us to leave the home after our visit, granny would run to the gate, pleading with us to bring her back. I will never forget the scene when her caretaker had to quickly lock the gate after we left, leaving my frail granny at the gate in tears, waving to us at our car and pleading for us to bring her home.
It was this heartbreaking scene at the nursing home each time we visited granny that mum decided to hire a full-time maid and brought granny home. The maid took very good care of granny but sadly she passed on about a year later. In those days, caregivers were difficult to find, much less in a small city.
These days, people are more inclined towards hiring caregivers to care for their loved ones vs. hiring a full-time maid. Caregivers work in the home and help their clients with daily activities, such as bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, grooming, taking medication, and some housework. Caregivers help clients make and keep appointments with doctors, help the patients keep track of prescription, provide or arrange transportation and serve as a companion for their clients.
One good website to find caregivers is at CaregiverAsia. CaregiverAsia is an online aggregator of health and caregiving services. Through its award-winning platform, CaregiverAsia has created an online marketplace leveraging on a shared economy of Careseekers and Caregivers. Careseekers can access on-time, trusted and transparent home care services; whilst freelance Caregivers and healthcare professionals can practice independently with full control of their schedules and terms of services. CaregiverAsia also specializes in healthcare recruitment and the placement of healthcare professionals and locums into leading healthcare institutions.
Services at CaregiverAsia can be booked via their website or via the Caregiver App which you can download from Google Play Store or App Store.
CaregiverAsia gives instant relief to Careseekers by allowing them to search and book for respite, step-down and at-home care in a transparent and affordable manner. Booking confirmation is instantaneous and is available 24/7. Caregivers listed on the platform are certified/ accredited/ experienced in their service specializations and Careseekers may search and browse Caregivers’ service offerings and the certifications and experience they have. Post service, Careseekers and Caregivers are both invited to review the care session.

The entire last week was a busy week for everyone ~ hubs with his back-to-back catering events, Alycia with tests every other day in preparation for the PT3 and UEC exams in 2 months in addition to PT3 History and Geography projects, Drama Queen with homework, tuition and church activity, Cass with exam revision and me, I provide support to everyone in the household, including the mil 💪 . If there is a title to describe what I do, it would be “One-leg-kick PA, driver, tutor, cook, maid cum small entrepreneur”.
In between homework and revision, Cass ‘de-stressed’ herself with gardening 😄 👩🌾. We are simple people and I’ve taught the girls to find happiness from simple inexpensive things within the house.
Here, Cass is composting fruit peel into the soil of the potted herbs in our tiny balcony garden. The latest additions to our herb garden are spring onions and coriander. The spring onion is springing well and I see tiny shoots sprouting from the coriander roots. Our spinach didn’t quite make it after sprouting a few baby leaves.
Sunday was the most hectic day for me. Didn’t have much time to revise BM with the vomit-blood inducing kid as I had to chauffeur Alycia and her friends to the mall for them to work on their PT3 History project and Sherilyn to and fro church.
I pre-ordered our Sunday dinner on Saturday evening from Dragon-I @ Mid Valley, delivered FREE to us by Food Panda. I found out about Food Panda when they approached me to write a review on their company several years ago. I’ve since been using Food Panda to order food from our favorite restaurants. Love it that they provide FREE delivery and accept COD.
This is my pre-order meal from Food Panda:
Food was delivered punctually at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday! Quality of the food is almost perfect. My only beef was that plastic containers were used. Well, this is unavoidable given that most food delivery companies have little options other than plastic ware or cardboard boxes.
We had an early bed time last night as I got so incensed with the vomit-blood inducing kid with a “exam so what, no need to study la!!” attitude that I refused to revise with her at night and sent her to bed at 9:30 p.m. 🤮 It’s time that she learns to be responsible over her lackadaisical attitude and faces the consequences. I can’t be sitting by her side, spoon-feeding and shielding her from falls and failures anymore. Whatever her results are this time, I am mentally prepared to accept them.

Nothing matters more to me in this world than the health and safety of my family members. I’d do anything to keep my family members in the pinkest of health. Some of the things that I do now to keep my children healthy is to give them a good brand of health supplements and ensure that they have healthy meals. I try to go organic as much as I can. I also buy toiletries and household cleaners that contain no harsh chemicals as much as I can.
I am fortunate that I stay in a place where I can buy organic food and other healthy food stuff conveniently. From time to time, I have blog readers emailing me to ask me where I get my organic food stuff as their location makes it very difficult for them to get hold of such items.
For those of you who have been desiring to purchase healthy food stuff, organic food, healthy personal care products and supplements but have no easy access to them, you can now shop for these items online at Green Wellness.
Green Wellness is an online retailer that focuses on healthy groceries and preventive healthcare products through distribution of toxic-free and chemical-free premium products sourced from all over the world, conveniently delivered to your door step.
What I like about Green Wellness is that they carry an impressive panoply of healthy products. I could find organic spirulina capsules, organic oat noodles, organic sauerkraut, healthy snacks for my girls and much more interesting healthy items.
I have already placed an online order for some healthy food items and can’t wait to receive them soon!
Did you know that apricot kernels contain Vitamin B17 which many cancer patients eat to fight cancer cells?

Domestic violence is a big problem in this country; it’s the leading cause of injury for women aged 15 to 44. The best way to help stop domestic violence or prevent it from happening to you is to remember the steps listed below and try to utilize them should the situation arise.
How can I help prevent domestic violence?
You don’t have to be a super hero in order to help prevent domestic violence. Ways you can help stop this crime include:
• Not being afraid to call the police if you suspect or witness evidence of domestic violence
• Tell your family member, friend, coworker or neighbor about a domestic violence outreach organization if you suspect that she is being abused
• Encourage your neighborhood watch program to be on the alert for domestic violence as well as more typical crimes such as burglary
• Listening to the testimonies of Christian women speakers and learning how you can support abused women.
If I’m in an abusive relationship, how do I get out?
The most important step is to make sure that you are safe. Contacting the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or your local domestic violence crisis center can be a great first step in making sure that your escape will be safe. If you don’t feel comfortable talking to these organizations, you could discuss an escape plan with a trusted friend.
I’m scared to call the police. Should I?
If someone is harming or threatening to harm you, you don’t need to hesitate to call 911. Your abuser could face consequences for his actions including arrest and conviction for domestic violence. If you really don’t feel comfortable bringing the law into the equation, see if a friend can house you temporarily while you sort things out.
I don’t feel safe at home. What should I do?
If you have been abused recently and need to leave the home you share with your abuser at once, you should contact your local domestic violence crisis center to find out how you can enter their program or take advantage of their confidential motel voucher program.
I was able to escape from my abuser. How can I keep him from coming after me?
You should consider getting a protection order from your local court house; this will ensure that you will have legal protection if your abuser gets closer than a certain number of feet near you.

If you’re in the beautiful city of Singapore and would want to cross border to the charming capital of Malaysia, you need to consider means that will get you there comfortably and safely. The two cities are about 320 km apart and going by a personal car might take you close to 4 or 5 hours and the journey can be extremely tiring. So why not choose a cheaper and more convenient option like taking a flight, bus or train? Each of these means has its very own benefits as well as drawbacks but you can always find one that best suits your needs and budget.
Let’s take a close look at how each of the transportation routes best suit your needs.
Travelling by bus
If you are travelling alone, and would want a straightforward and convenient travelling means, taking a bus or luxury coach can be the best option. Depending on the amount of traffic, a journey from Singapore to KL might take 5 to 7 hours. One of the best benefits about travelling in buses is that they can conveniently drop you off anywhere in the city. There are two major options to consider with bus services that are city buses and luxury buses.
Regardless of the type of buses, you can easily get a ticket via online portal at http://www.easybook.com/en-sg/bus/booking/singapore-to-kualalumpur. What differentiates a normal city bus and luxury bus is the comfort you are getting for the long journey especially when a luxury bus comes with personal TVs, Wi-Fi and even snacks. The only drawback will the hefty price tag of $40 and above as opposed to a normal bus ticket that is as cheap as $18 to $25.
Travelling by Flight
Taking a flight is definitely one of the quickest ways to get from Singapore to KL. A typical flight between these two places takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. However, one need to take into account of the time needed for check-in and passing the custom which might add up to another hour.
Major Singapore-to-Malaysia carriers that are budget-friendly include Jetstar, AsiaAir, and Tigerair. Prices in these airlines can go as low as $30 including fees and taxes. Be sure to check out on days these airlines offer promos for tickets. One tip will be to compare the many flight ticket prices via https://www.google.com.my/flights/.
Although you can save up the time of traveling from Singapore to Malaysia, getting to the Kuala Lumpur city center could be time consuming when the airport is situated more than 50KM away from the city. Do prepare RM 70 to RM 100 for a budget taxi to get to your destination or alternatively you can take a bus to KL Sentral too.
Do remember that there isn’t any centralized bus station in Singapore but there are multiple pick up points on the island with the likes of Lavendar, Novena, Boon Lay, Golden Mile Complex, Katong V Mall and many more. You just need to find the nearest pick up point and hop on the bus to Kuala Lumpur. It’s that simple.
Travelling by Train
If you would want to enjoy the scenic ride from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, taking KTMB Intercity train can be a perfect choice. You can enjoy amazing view of Kampong village and palm oil plantations. Departure time for trains include 8 am and 1 pm with the overnight train leaving at 10:30 pm. A typical day train takes about 6 hours while the overnight train 8 hours with the cost of $10 for 2nd class seat, $15 for 2nd class sleeper and $40 to $45 for a 1st class deluxe sleeper that gives you a private cabin with a TV and shower.
Although it is definitely going to be the slowest among all the options until the very much anticipated High Speed Rail (HSR) starts operating in 2026, travelling by train is still preferred by most with the relatively affordable pricing and the opportunity to soak in the breathtaking view as well as having plenty of chance to get a really good nap.
There you have it with the numerous options that you can make use of when travelling to Kuala Lumpur from Singapore. You are definitely spoiled with choices but its best to define the urgency of the trip and your budget and put those considerations as part of your planning so that you will not make a hasty and much regretted decision. All in all, travelling by bus could still be the best option for the stability of ticket prices and the shorter journey as opposed to train. You can get your ticket easily at http://www.easybook.com/en-sg/bus/booking/singapore-to-kualalumpur.

So let’s say your air con breaks down. Who do you go to? In situations like this most of us usually turn to family and friends for help. I recently stumbled across a company that is trying to make this process more convenient.
This company is called ServisHero. They call themselves a services marketplace. Basically you can use their app or website to hire service professionals such as aircon repairmen or cleaning services. They offer about 70 services at the moment ranging from cleaners to plumbers and even contractors for renovation services. Not a bad idea right?
My first impression is that this is quite a good service for busy people who can use ServisHero to quickly hire someone that they need. I also think that it is a good tool to find companies and prices for services that you need to hire.
It is quite simple. All you need to do is submit a request on the app or website. The service professionals on their platform will be able to see your request and send you prices. The idea is you can then compare prices and hire a suitable service provider.
ServisHero is currently offering a promotion for customers using the promo code: HEALTHMOM25 for RM25 off ALL SERVICES. Here are the step-by-step instructions on how you go about purchasing a service and using the promo code to get RM25 off the purchase.
What do you guys think? Might be a useful tool for us if we ever find that we need an aircon man or a washing machine guy and don’t know who to call. Do give ServisHero a try and hopefully some of you will find them useful 🙂

Today I discovered something very, very useful for banana mummies like me who always try in vain to guide their kids in Chinese. For someone with very, very limited knowledge of the Chinese language, I get really, really frustrated when my girls run to me and cry for help on days when the Mandarin tutor does not come.
I immediately downloaded this app (on my desktop computer) onto my Samsung mobile phone and within a minute, the app was successfully downloaded.
I quickly snapped a photo of one of Cass’ Chinese story books using the Google Translate app by following the very detailed step-by-step tutorial in the app itself and voila, within a minute, the page was translated from Chinese to English with Pinyin too. Wait, there is even icing on the cake! You can even tap on the audio to hear the translation in Chinese!! This is too good to be true and it’s so easy and convenient to translate any reading material in any language to a language that you want! This is even better than Line Dictionary and Pleco. I can’t wait for my girls to come home today, so that I can teach them how to use this wonderful app!

Hear ye hear ye everyone with primary and secondary school kids in Malaysia’s public schools! Your kid(s) may have already told you about this educational website but if they or you have not already known yet, let me introduce you to FrogAsia.
FrogAsia, a YTL company, is the first company in the world to connect an entire nation through a single, cloud-based learning platform. You and your child will not be charged any data costs while accessing Frog on their network, so everyone can enjoy unlimited access to their world of learning anytime, anywhere!
Through the 1BestariNet project, FrogAsia is bringing the future of education to every student, teacher and parent in Malaysia. Combining high-speed 4G internet access, a world class learning platform and access to ‘best-in-class’ resources and technology, Malaysia is the first country in the world to bring its entire education community together on a single converged network designed specifically to meet the needs of teaching and learning. 1BestariNet is a project initiated by the Malaysian Ministry of Education in line with the government’s vision of providing quality, Internet-enabled education for all. Over 10,000 government schools around the country will be equipped with this awesome solution, bridging the digital divide between rural and urban students.
I first got to know about Frog Asia when Alycia and Sherilyn came home from school one day some time early this year and told me that their teachers had instructed everyone to log into this website. The students were required to explore the website and try out the apps and features at www.frogasia.com.
Your child will first need to register at the FrogAsia website. For Alycia and Sherilyn, they were given a set of log in data by their school (they are in a cluster school).
The website is pretty kids friendly. It is Sherilyn, my drama queen who taught me how to navigate around the website. And boy was I impressed with what I found in there! Everything that is available at the FrogAcademy is on the left side bar of the Frog Store from resources to documents, books, images, videos, audio, question banks and much more.
Your kids can even gain access to their school text books at the FrogAsia website! So worry not if your kid has forgotten to bring home an important text book for revision. She/he will be able to read the text book by hopping into FrogAsia.
Here is a sample of how the eText book looks like…
Alycia and Sherilyn have added over 50 e-books into their ‘My Library’ at the FrogAsia website. They can read them on their iPad or lappie during their free time.
This is how the eBook looks like…
They were jumping with excitement when they found Diary of a Wimpy Kid from the Fun Brain app, in eBook form!
Interesting eComics are also accessible for free!
Parents can buy questions for their child to work on from the FrogAcademy at a minimal cost of only a few Ringgit per subject. Since the Question Banks is still at its Beta stage, only Form 4, Form 5 and SPM questions can be purchased at the moment. But very soon, questions for primary students and other levels will be readily available for purchase. You can pay via M2U or credit card. There will soon be sample UPSR questions for purchase as well.
Parents can check their kid(s)’ work from the questions that they have bought from the Question Banks and monitor them, as shown below…
Educational videos can be added to your ‘My Library’ and they are free to view!
Under the Resources category, you can add flash cards, free images, free sounds, Funbrain (my girls love this category) and much more to your ‘My Library’.
FrogAsia has a partnership with Google, which means that your child can assess to a buffet of interesting education materials from FrogAsia, which will bring them over to Google Apps to assess the educational materials. So make sure you or your child has a Google Chrome account as well.
FrogAsia is probably one of the best and most comprehensive local educational websites that I have come across. If your child’s school has not been introduced to this website yet, you can help your child register now and start letting him/her explore FrogAsia today. This is definitely a must have website bookmarked in all your electronic devices!

One of the things that I miss the most about having a live-in maid is not having to do any cooking. Lunch and dinner would be all settled by Dyah, our previous helper, whom I miss terribly when she first left us. All I needed to do was to write out a weekly menu on what to cook for lunch and dinner and Dyah would know what to do. For over 10 years, I hardly stepped into the wet kitchen. In the initial days when she just left to return to her homeland for good, I did not know where things were kept. I did not even know how to operate the washing machine. It took me over 1.5 years to get used to living without Dyah. It was only recently when the MIL went overseas for several months that I really learned how to be independent – how to whip up meals for the kids everyday and how to juggle my time between doing house chores, cooking, taking care of the kids’ welfare and doing my online business.
One of the things that I find very time consuming is cooking. Preparation and cooking eats up at least an hour of my time daily. And this is with preparing only easy-to-cook dishes with minimal preparation, simple cooking procedures and requires minimal washing up. On days when I am too tied down with my online store, cooking will be the last thing I want to do. On such days, I will bring the kids to the Japanese restaurant at our condo to have dinner or drive out to the nearby shops to eat. On days when we are all fed-up of the choices that we have, we will have pizza or KFC delivered to our door-step. Recently, my friend introduced me to Food Panda, a food delivery service. With this awesome service, I will now be spoilt for choice with a WIDE range to pick from, such as Tony Roma’s, Papa John’s, Secret Recipe, DOME, A&W, Sakae Sushi, The Chicken Rice Shop, Cha Time, among others! Delivery fee is just a few Ringgit and some outlets will stipulate a minimum order requirement.
Speaking about food, I now crave for some Japanese food! This Saturday, I am all gamed up to use Food Panda’s service to order food from one of our favorite eateries. I’ll bet my girls will be excited to pick their choice of food and eatery!
Update – By the way, I also came to know about this website recently named CouponzGuru. At this website you can get latest coupon codes for online food ordering websites like Foodpanda & Room Service. You can now get Foodpanda Coupons and Room Service Coupons at this site. Check it out!

If you are a yellow banana who does not know a word of Chinese or only speak smattering Mandarin /can read a handful of Chinese words, you will find www.nciku.com a life saver. You will thank me profusely today for leading you to this website, just like how I am so thankful to my blogger friend Su Kim who introduced this website to me. I was on the verge of buying Besta Electronic Chinese English pocket dictionary which cost over RM2k. Thank God I had not bought it earlier. Now that I have found nciku.com, I can use my mouse to write out the Chinese character to have it translated for me, complete with vocal sounds to help us on the correct pronunciation.
NCiku.com — just use your mouse to write out the Chinese character on the box on the right. A list of possible words with similar strokes with han yu pin yin will appear on the utmost right. You then click on the chosen Chinese character and search it for the meaning / listen to the pronunciation. You will even be taught on the correct order of the strokes.

Mumsgather recently introduced this awesome website to me. Baby has since been hooked on this website. She plays with my laptop almost everyday and now, she hops straight to Literacy Center to learn her ABCs and spelling! Literacy Center teaches toddlers and pre-schoolers ABCs, 123s, colors, shapes, time telling and much more. It’s the next best free learning website, after Starfall.
Here Baby’s getting a helping hand from Sherilyn jie jie on how to spell the word yellow. After a few tries, she now knows how to spell all her colors and she’s only 3YO! Of course she does not really know it by hard. It’s by trial and error but after a few tries, she more or less knows the flow of letters for the spelling of all the colors.
During the day while I am busy on my desktop, she sits next to me and practices her spelling on the laptop! Then, she will ask to go to You Tube to listen to her favorite songs and play her favorite Strawberry Shortcake games. Kids these days are SO IT-savvy, aren’t they?
