Christmas Dinner

We had steamboat on Christmas day. We have not had steamboat for almost 1 year already, can you beat that? That’s because we always feel very thirsty after having steamboat. I think there must be loads of MSG in the salty but tasty soup.  Another major turn-off about having steamboat is that we are normally all sweaty and uncomfortable after the meal, unless we eat in an air-conditioned steamboat restaurant.

We went to this steamboat restaurant called A-HO at Taman Desa. It’s a branch of Ho Ho Steamboat in Sri Petaling, the one that’s always packed.

We ordered an extra plate of QQ tofu, my favorite and an extra plate of fishballs for the gals.

This time, I didn’t drink the soup like it was water and I didn’t feel thirsty after the dinner. Thankfully it was also a very breezy and windy night, so we didn’t sweat much. Will definitely have steamboat again soon as the gals enjoy their meals very much.

  1. we love steamboat… yes, sometimes they put msg in the soup to make it tasty but afterwards, my throat gets all itchy… so nowadays we usually make it ourselves when we wanna eat steamboat 🙂

    happy new year!

  2. I think we call that Shabu-shabu here in the Philippines, it’s the same concept. I love it, and yes it’s good to have it only once a year. After you’ve had it, the craving’s gone

Happy New Year to you and to your lovely family Shireen.
