Geronimo Stilton Fever

Alycia has been hit by the Geronimo Stilton fever. Her P2 classmates have all been bitten by the same silly mouse bug too. On Sunday, we spent 6 hours at Mid Valley Megamall and Gardens. Our main purpose to the mall was to get Sherilyn a pair of black ‘kek kok’ tap shoes for her graduation cum concert. We thought that it was going to be a quick shopping trip but we ended up spending half a day there. We spent close to 2 hours at Borders and spent over RM200 on books for the girls, the bulk of which was for my Geronimo craze 7.5YO girl.

So here’s Alycia’s loot. She was overjoyed beyond words when daddy told her that she could choose 10 books so that the amount will entitle us to a year’s membership at Borders. Membership will be free if one spends a minimum of RM150 in a single receipt.  Membership will entitle the member to a 10% discount on purchase of books for 1 year.

Day and night this girl had her eyes and hands glued to her books…. and that’s my girl fresh from bed with the book still glued to her hand…

She even showed no interest when I shoved a piece of bread with ice cream to her mouth! She was already full from reading her books! You’ll be surprised to know that this girl has interest mainly in horror, adventure, investigation, ghosts and ghouls, bizarre and creepy books. Nothing cute or girlish for this girl… yet.

  1. My 8 yo boy is also a big fan of Geronimo Stilton other than Wimpy Kid and Big Nate. His eyes and hands will stay glued to the books until he finishes reading all of them. I’d usually let him choose 1-2 books at a time or he will end up just like Alycia.. tummy full from reading all those books. Hahaha..

You may want to introduce her to Thea’s Adventures too which is also part of Geronimo Stilton’s, only that the characters in the books are mostly girls.. just to add a little girlish thingy into Alycia. 🙂

  2. sy, you shld also get her Geronimo S’s the kingdom of fantasy series (the hard cover one). so far, my younger girl has read the 1st n 2nd book.. looking forward to the 3rd one. i myself read it – interesting.

  3. Shin, just told my girl about it. She said she saw the book too but it’s very expensive. I told her that if her position is the top 5 best in class again, I’m going to get her 3 books of her choice, which includes the kingdom of fantasy.

  4. a very good rewarding present .. I am sure Alycia will get her reward…

I have to jot down all these books for my girl for the future… she has begun to read in English ..

mmm.. ice cream bread… remind me of my childhood fav afternoon snack

  5. wow that’s a lot of books! it’s good that she loves to read! and hey, i also love reading ghostly horror books ONLY. romance, cartoon, naaah…not my cup of tea 😀 but i like girlish stuff lah. haha.

  6. Tell Alycia that Granny will also buy 3 titles of her choice..to match Mummy’s 3 books! So study hard, do well. Then the 6 books will be hers, hehe!

  7. Hey babe, you can borrow ours!!! We have GS I think half the series and some of Thea as well. T1 is off GS already so no problem at all. I must warn you thouhgh that GS is American so kids might get confused with the spelling. Colour vs Color, Night vs Nite etc.
