Lunch: Tapau chap fan from our favourite shop — braised chicken with black fungus, braised tofu, steamed fish and braised turnip. Only RM23.
The three of us couldn’t even finish the chicken, so the leftovers went straight into the dinner menu. Why we ate so little? Coz at 83, dad doesn’t like eating meat anymore, he’s a flexitarian now.
Dinner: Dad took over the kitchen as usual. ❤️
Sautéed Romano beans with leftover roast chicken and char siu, air-fried salmon with garlic and turmeric, and steamed tofu with a little fish sauce and scallions.
Simple food, but so good.
After more than two decades of planning two meals a day for my daughters, I finally don’t have to do it anymore. 😂
No more daily brain gymnastics of “What shall I buy and cook? What shall we eat?”
Retired Ipoh auntie life has its perks. 😆
