Amniocentesis Results

The day finally came when the results for my Amnio test were out.  I had called the gynae’s office in the morning but was told that it’s not out yet.  Later in the afternoon, the nurse called to inform me that it’s finally out, 4 days early.  As it was pouring heavily with thunder and lightning, I couldn’t hear her clearly on my cellphone.  When she repeated the second time, I was really overjoyed to hear that everything is normal.  As to the gender of the baby…… I am sure everyone is eager to know yah?  Is it a boy or a girl?  Not telling just yet.

Ok, I’ll stop pulling everyone’s legs,  I’m going to have another princess!  Though my gynae had told me earlier that it’s a boy, it turned out to be a girl!  The little dicky bird that I had seen on the screen had vanished!  I swear I saw it but looks like it could have been the umbilical cord maybe?  As I had mentioned earlier, it really doesn’t matter to me whether the baby is a girl or a boy.  What matters most is that the baby is healthy and perfect.  Well, I am still not 100% convinced with just a phone call.  I still have to see the results myself to believe that my baby is ok.  I’m scheduled to see my gynae on Wednesday next week but I’m going to call to have an earlier appointment.

My mum always say that having 4 daughters in her life is the best gift GOD has given her. As all of us r very close to her till now. My brothers are more close to their wives side. 😉

you know how i wish i can have a girl..given the girl ratio in my family is 0 since 1980! that was the year mom give birth to me and my twins. later she had my brother. then all my bros and sis got married, and none have a girl. not even my cousins. count your blessin.

  6. Praise to GOD!! That the baby is normal. Yeah…I bet all parents are more concern about baby health compare to gender…..princess?? wow….i dread of having a girl girl…

  7. Sorry late to this blog (a year late). 🙂 I’m scheduled for an amnio in mid July and I’m terrified of the procedure/pain. I was wondering if you could describe what it feels like. I’m doing research on experience to put my mind at ease and I see everything from “felt nothing” to “bad pinch but then fine” to “OMG it felt like my insides were ripped out”.

Any insight would help. Thank you and your kids are beautiful.

  8. Girlplease… get a very experienced and good Ob&G to do the amnio for you. My Ob&G is a very good dr. and it really didn’t hurt as much as I had first imagined. He was very gentle and careful. Good luck to you.
