Sherilyn’s Sip of Passion – Crafting Magic with Coffee and Matcha

If there’s one person in our household who can brew joy in a cup, it’s Sherilyn. Her love for coffee and matcha goes beyond the average café-goer’s enthusiasm — it’s a full-blown passion that she pours into every cup she makes. Whether she’s waitressing or working behind the counter as a barista at the café she works part-time at, Sherilyn brings both flair and heart into her job. And let me tell you — her coffee and matcha beverages are not just drinks, they’re works of art (and flavor)!

What amazes me the most is that Sherilyn didn’t just pick up these skills on the job — she used her own savings to attend barista courses and exhibitions, showing just how committed she is to perfecting her craft. Her coffee art is coming along nicely too — while she’s still building up her design repertoire, the ones she can do are impressively pretty. But it’s not just about how the drinks look; it’s the creativity and thought she puts into each beverage that makes them so special.

At home, she’s like a beverage scientist — always experimenting. She’s made her own strawberry syrup and orange peel vanilla syrup to elevate her gourmet drip coffee creations. And let me say, one sip and you’ll never look at bottled coffee syrup the same way again. Her flair doesn’t stop at coffee either. When it comes to matcha, Sherilyn takes it to another level. She loves using whipped cream and infusing it with unique flavors like Vitagen (yes, the childhood favorite drink!) and even my dehydrated purple sweet potato powder.

Today’s concoction was honestly next-level: a premium matcha beverage layered with purple sweet potato syrup and whipped cream. It was smooth, velvety, and subtly sweet with earthy notes — one of the best matcha drinks I’ve ever had, hands down. Her matcha drinks are not only delicious but also Instagram-worthy!

Sherilyn doesn’t just make drinks — she crafts an experience, and it’s clear that she finds joy in every step of the process. From baking to cooking and now creating café-quality beverages, she has a natural talent that’s shining brighter each day. I truly believe that if Sherilyn ever opens her own café, it would be a hit. Her attention to detail, love for her craft, and creativity would draw in customers not just for the drinks, but for the heartwarming experience she delivers in every cup.

I have always fantasized about Sherilyn designing her own cafe cum dance centre – using her architecture background in the design, and deep passion to run the cafe and dance centre ?

Here’s to Sherilyn’s sips of passion — may they one day turn into a business brewed to perfection! ?☕️

Our in-house barista’s concoction – matcha with whipped cream and purple sweet potato syrup. This is SO GOOD and I LOVE the vibrant colors!! The colors remind me of Alycia’s first Barney plushie from over two decades ago ?
