FollowAlycia is now in her final semester of university — finally, after almost four long years of hard work, countless assignments, and many sleepless nights. But instead of slowing down, she’s busier than ever, juggling classes, competitions, and now a freelance/part-time job with Astro!
She recently joined Astro Xiao Tai Yang (XTY), Astro’s popular children’s channel, as part of the production team. Just last weekend, she embarked on a work trip to Johor Bahru and Malacca with the XTY crew for on-location program shoots. The whole team travelled in two vans — what an experience!
And that’s not all. Next month, they’ll be flying off to Penang, Sabah, and Sarawak for the next round of shoots. It’ll be Alycia’s first time visiting East Malaysia, and I’m just as excited as she is. Not only is she gaining hands-on industry experience, but she’s also getting to see more of our beautiful country. What an amazing opportunity for both work and adventure.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, today, Alycia and her two coursemates from Sunway University participated in the Trailblazers: The Ad-venture Challenge — a national-level marketing competition organized by the Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA). And guess what? They emerged as champions (beating participants from corporate!), taking home the RM3,000 cash prize! ??
I’m beyond proud of everything she’s achieving in this final stretch of her university journey. With her commitment, passion, and grit, I know even more great things await her.
