FollowLast Wednesday, hubby was suddenly craving curry noodles and suggested we head over to the famous Girl & Mommy Famous Curry Mee at Jalan Chan Sow Lin. He’s been wanting to try it again for a while now, and the stars finally aligned for our little food adventure.
Now, this isn’t your average bowl of curry noodles. This one comes loaded—and I mean loaded—with cockles! The price of the cockles-loaded curry noodles is very ‘atas’ too! The stall is well-known for its ultra-generous cockles topping, which draws quite a crowd. While I do enjoy cockles, I’ve been trying to cut down on them for health and hygiene reasons (we all know they’re not exactly the cleanest shellfish!). So I picked around them and just enjoyed the rich, spicy broth and springy noodles.
We sat in a hut-like stall, and while the food was undeniably delicious, we were all practically dripping in sweat thanks to the scorching heatwave. It’s the kind of meal that sets your tongue on fire and your body temperature soaring. Definitely not the best combo with the current weather, but hey, it was worth it. You’ll need a shower when you get home.
We also packed takeaway bowls for Sherilyn and Cass, and let me tell you—they both devoured their curry noodles right down to the last drop of soup. That says a lot, doesn’t it?
So, will we be back? Yes, definitely. But next time, we’ll make sure the weather is a little kinder… or we’ll just opt for takeaway and enjoy it in the comfort of our air-conditioned home!
