It’s been a rather eventful and exhausting few weeks for us. The pesky Influenza bug seems to be making its rounds in our household. My husband caught it first a few weeks ago, then it was my turn, and now poor Sherilyn has been down with what I suspect is a mild bout of Influenza too. She’s been resting as much as she can, though knowing her, she never really stays still for long.
Despite being slightly under the weather, Sherilyn still went ahead with her dance competition — and her team did amazingly well! They bagged 2nd Runner Up in the Kpop Dance Cover 2025 competition held at Bloomsvale Shopping Gallery, bringing home a cash prize of RM500. I’m so proud of her perseverance and passion for dance, even when she isn’t feeling her best.

Meanwhile, during the Deepavali school holidays, Cass finally managed to catch up on her much-needed sleep. After months of burning the midnight oil revising for her upcoming SPM exams, this break was a blessing. She went figure skating, watched Demon Slayer with her grandma, and for the first time in almost half a year, joined us for Monday lunch — thanks to the public holiday!
We know the breather won’t last long though — school reopens on Thursday, and it’ll be back to the grind for her:
school → study → more revision → late-night revision again + snacking → school again → repeat.
As for me, I’ve been trying to make time for my little creative hobby — learning CapCut on my desktop PC. I squeeze in about 30 minutes a day to explore its features. There are so many beautiful video effects I often see in famous vloggers’ videos, and I’m determined to figure out how they do it. One day, I know I will!

Over the weekend, my husband took us to SS2 PJ for lunch. We stopped by Ipoh Sedap for some delicious Hakka noodles, then made our way to Kona, our favorite bakery, to stock up on sourdough breads, focaccia, and shiopan. He also couldn’t resist ordering coffee, a taro butter scone, and an onde-onde cake, which turned out to be absolutely glorious — fragrant, moist, and just the right amount of sweetness.
All in all, it’s been a week of ups and downs — from battling the flu to celebrating small victories and cherishing quiet family moments. Here’s hoping everyone recovers soon and that the rest of the month brings us better health, more rest, and more good food to enjoy together.
