If you’ve been following my foodie adventures, you’ll know my girls and I have a soft spot for beautiful, nutritious, and not-so-easy-to-find fruits. And lately, we’ve fallen head over heels in love with a new fruit crush — Zespri’s Ruby Kiwi!
For the past two weeks, I’ve been indulging in one ruby kiwi a day, thanks to a fresh batch that popped up at my neighborhood fruit stall. At RM15 for a pack of five small kiwis, these little gems aren’t cheap, but boy, are they worth every cent!
Why I’m Obsessed with Ruby Kiwis
The first thing that caught my eye was their stunning appearance. Cut one open and you’ll be greeted with a gorgeous deep pink-red center, almost like the inside of a ripe strawberry. The contrast of the ruby flesh against the greenish yellowish outer ring is just so aesthetic — it’s almost too pretty to eat. Almost!

And the taste? Divine. Ruby kiwis are noticeably sweeter than green kiwis, with less of that tangy bite. There’s a mild berry-like flavor that makes each bite such a treat — juicy, refreshing, and incredibly satisfying.
