Reading Is a Lifestyle, Not Just a Hobby

In a world ruled by electronic gadgets and endless scrolling, meeting people who still love reading printed books is something quite rare and comforting.  My youngest daughter, Cass, is one of these rare breeds. She’s the kind who used to always have a thick novel in her hand wherever she went. She still does it now, though not as much as she used to do when she was younger. She even had a book jersey which she loved to wear whenever we went out.

Cass still loves going to bookstores just to browse. When she was younger, she would beg me to leave her at the bookstore the entire day so that she could read all her favorite books. Her rewards for performing well in school were novels and more novels. Do you know of someone who’s like this in this day and age where novels are easily available on apps? Most people don’t even read printed books now as social media has taken over the appeal of the former. For the small percentage of book lovers who still love printed books, bookstores, and libraries, library shirts have become their favourite piece of clothing. These shirts remind us that reading isn’t outdated, it’s timeless and a powerful hobby that benefits personal and intellectual growth.

Book-themed fashion is slowly gaining traction among book lovers, students, librarians, and teachers. School book clubs and reading communities enjoy wearing coordinating outfits during gatherings and book events. A comfortable book club shirt adds a meaningful sense of belonging while making the reading experience feel more memorable and purposeful.

Whether you’re a printed book lover or a digital book lover, as long as you read, you’re growing your knowledge and wisdom. Frequent reading can also prevent neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and dementia by keeping the brain active and engaged.   Wearing a book lover jersey or t-shirt is a declaration of who you are, what you stand for, and an expression of your passion. And to have reading as a hobby is something that everyone should be proud of.
