Today may be a Sunday, but it wasn’t a sleep-in day for us — Cass had to be at school bright and early for Parents’ Day and report card collection. As one of the official photographers for the school (she’s in the Photography Club this year), she had to be there early to capture the moments of the day. I went later in the morning to collect her report card, and it dawned on me — this would be my very last time doing this!
From the year 2010 when Alycia, my eldest daughter started Primary 1, I’ve faithfully attended Parents’ Day every single year (except during the lockdown years) for my three daughters, collecting report cards, talking to teachers, and witnessing my girls grow and learn. And now, in 2025, the journey has come full circle. 15 years of report cards, braving horrendous traffic congestion, check-ins, and school corridors — all wrapped up today.
And what a beautiful note to end on — Cass did well in her Mid Year exam! It helps that she’s in the top class, surrounded by motivated, focused, and hardworking students. That kind of environment has a wonderful ripple effect, and I can see it shaping Cass’s discipline and attitude toward her studies.
What surprised and delighted me most was her result in Additional Mathematics — an A+! From the days of struggling and scraping through with borderline passes when she first started Add Math, this transformation is nothing short of inspiring. It’s a result of her grit, consistency, and hard work — and also the fact that this year, her Add Math teacher happens to be her favourite. He’s not just knowledgeable, but also approachable and kind, making it so much easier for Cass to ask questions and deepen her understanding.
Before we left the school, Cass even asked me to take a photo of her with her Add Math teacher — a simple gesture that speaks volumes about the respect and gratitude she has for him.
After school, we headed to Mid Valley Megamall for brunch, a nice little mother-daughter treat to celebrate a good day.
I pray that Cass will continue to do well, and with the same determination and drive, she will ace her upcoming SPM exam. This chapter may be closing for me as a school-report-card-collecting mum, but a new chapter is just beginning for her.

Congratulations Cass! What’s next for her? The food also looks so yum
Thanks Liv! She’s still not sure what to study in college. Probably accounting or economics? I know for sure she wants to skate forever 😛
Could she teach ice skating professionally? Not sure what it takes to do that ?
Hi Liv
Yes, she could do that, and that’s her Plan B. To do that, she needs to pass all the figure skating tests and compete in many competitions, which means it’s going to be a very costly path ?
