As a woman now officially in the Fabulous Fifties Club, I have decided it’s time to plan my next decade properly — not with a Vision Board, but with a “Realistic Asian Woman Wish List.”
Because let’s be honest, most of my goals revolve around peace, food, and not being stressed to death.
So here’s what I want for myself from now until the next 10 years and even beyond.
1. Peace… glorious peace
I want the kind of peace where the only sound I hear in the house is the music of all my favorite songs on YouTube.
Where my heart rate doesn’t shoot up just because someone calls my name from another room.
Basically, I want the kind of peace where my heart rate finally stops performing acrobatics.
2. Money that doesn’t stress me
I’m not asking for flashy wealth and luxury.
I just want… comfortable survival.
Enough money to:
- Buy my avocados and whole salmon without checking the price tag
- Enjoy good coffee (coffee is not a luxury, it’s a necessity!)
- Treat my daughters and friends once in a while
- Live quietly without calculating every ringgit like a human calculator
Basically, financial peace of mind — the premium adult version of happiness.
3. A home that feels like a spa
In my next decade, I want a home that gives me instant serotonin.
A minimalist house that’s clean and bright, and a fridge that always contains something I love eating. A home so comfortable that I never want to step outside… except for food and to exercise.
4. An even closer bond with my 3 girls
My daughters are my greatest joy (and greatest headache, but in a good way).
In the next 10 years:
- I hope they still come to me for advice
- Still tell me their stories
- Still let me nag them occasionally
- Still laugh with me during our “girls’ talk” sessions
I don’t need anything fancy — just their love, their company, and the occasional hug that doesn’t cost money.
5. The courage to choose myself
This decade, I’m putting myself on my own priority list (finally).
I want to:
- Say no without guilt
- Rest without feeling lazy
- Eat what I like without overthinking
- And protect my energy like it’s gold
If it doesn’t bring me peace and joy — I’m not entertaining it.
6. Plenty of small joys
At this stage, I’ve learned that happiness is just a collection of small things:
- Someone close whom I can pour out all that’s in my heart to every day
- Air-fried fish turning out exactly the way I like
- A clean kitchen
- Having meals with my parents in their 80s
These little joys add up. They make life full, even when the day is simple.
7. A lighter heart
Most of all, I want to feel lighter, not in weight, though, as I am already underweight.
I want to let go of old burdens, old stress, old emotional heaviness.
I want to step into the next decade feeling like a new version of me — wiser, calmer, happier, and much harder to disturb.
What do you want to be in your next decade?

It will happen! I was in a similar situation 12 years ago and thankfully everything has improved and am basically enjoying life, like we all should!
